Stuart graduated from Portsmouth Polytechnic in 1990. In his early career Stuart was employed by Costain Civil Engineering in the UK. In 1995 Stuart joined Norwest Holst on the A12 / M11 Link Road through Leytonstone in London. This project involved the construction of several kilometres of road and a cover and cut tunnel in a built-up area of London. Stuart set up his own company in 1997 securing contracts on the UK’s Second Severn Bridge and with Adtranz on the Woking to Surbiton re-signalling project which was one of the first large UK Railtrack upgrades. In 1999 Stuart started the Master’s Degree in Construction Law and Arbitration, King’s College London and graduated in 2001 at which point he started representing clients in UK Adjudications and developing his experience in dispute resolution.
