Simon is a seasoned chemical process engineer with 35 years of experience, primarily in the upstream oil and gas industry. He is a Chartered Engineer and a European Engineer, recognized for his extensive expertise in the sector. Simon’s career has spanned projects in NW Europe and around the globe, working with numerous oil and gas companies, contractors, and consultants. His broad experience encompasses both onshore and offshore projects, including deepwater operations. He is an expert in oil and gas chemical process engineering and field development, with particular proficiency in pre-FEED capital and operating cost estimating. Currently, Simon operates as an independent consultant, specializing in pre-FEED field development planning. He applies his expertise to the development of oil and gas fields, often evaluating projects on behalf of host governments. His work is distinguished by his strong conceptual and detailed analytical skills. In addition to his consulting work, Simon provides Expert Witness services for engineering and construction legal disputes within the oil and gas sector. He has authored several Expert Witness reports and has been cross-examined in litigation and international arbitration. Simon is also qualified to undertake Expert Determination.
