He provides expert advice and testimony on complex offshore engineering matters including subsea cables, foundations, trenching, piling, and marine infrastructure disputes.

Overview
Mark Finch is a Chartered Engineer, Certified Expert Witness, and a practising member of the Academy of Experts, with 35 years’ experience of offshore geotechnical engineering, foundation design, and installation. Mark has worked for a broad range of organisations from site investigation contractors, consultancies and Tier 1 Contractors to Oil & Gas Operators and Offshore Wind Developers. Mark founded his first consultancy in 2004 which was acquired by Lloyds Register in 2008.
In 2016 he founded Ternan Energy – an independent marine geoscience consultancy. Ternan Energy has grown to more than 20 technical specialists – with offices in Aberdeen, Edinburgh Oxford, and Brighton. Mark regularly acts as an Expert Witness in high-value construction disputes and advises Clients across the globe.

Offshore geotechnical engineering, foundation design, and installation of offshore structures, trenching etc. Involved in 30 plus disputes. Authored numerous Expert Reports and given oral evidence in arbitration on numerous occasions. Certified Expert Witness (CUBS). Member of the Academy of Experts.
