Dr. Saravanan Mariappan is a highly accomplished civil, geotechnical and environmental engineering specialist with over 31 years of professional experience. He has led complex infrastructure, flood mitigation and hillside development projects across Malaysia and the region and His work spans geotechnical design, slope stability, ground improvement, landfill engineering and water resources management. Dr. Saravanan is internationally recognised for his innovation in flood mitigation systems and is the holder of multiple Malaysian and international patents, including patented large-scale aqueduct-based flood diversion systems. He has published extensively in peer-reviewed journals and international conferences and regularly advises government agencies and public authorities on climate resilience, disaster mitigation and infrastructure safety.
