Overview
Ed Osterwald is a Senior Partner with Osterwald, Rathbone & Partners LLP in London.
He began his career at Mobil Corporation’s head office in New York and held a range of positions in refining operations, oil supply and trading. These included Mobil’s joint venture refinery at Yanbu Saudi Arabia, product supply in the Far East and planning for refining and marketing affiliates Western Europe. For several years he coordinated product supplies to Mobil affiliates in East Africa.
After Mobil, Mr Osterwald became a Partner with Arthur Andersen in London and was charge of oil and gas in Central and Eastern Europe, the Middle East, India and Africa. During this time, he was Managing Partner for the firm’s services to Crown Resources, which was the oil trading arm of Russian oil company TNK.
His experience in supply operations and oil trading gives Mr Osterwald a deep understanding of the links between petroleum markets and crude oil values. He frequently acts as a testifying expert.
