Overview

Dr Abhishek Asthana is Associate Professor in Energy Engineering and the Director of Hallam Energy at Sheffield Hallam University. He is also the Director of Industrial Energy Pioneers Ltd, a private engineering consultancy specialising in industrial energy efficiency and decarbonisation. Abhishek has successfully led more than 75 industrial energy consultancy and R&D projects. He is a reviewer for the International Agency (IEA)’s Renewable Energy division. He has won £9 million in government grant funding, including £3 million as principal investigator. He has co-authored more than 50 scientific journal and conference papers, 4 books, 14 book chapters and co-invented 4 patents and 4 engineering software packages. He is a member of UK Energy Research Centre (UKERC)’ research council and holds senior advisory positions with the Institution of Engineering Technology (IET) and the Energy Institute
