Philip Cooper is a Chartered Engineer and Fellow of the Institution of Mechanical Engineers with 45 years of worldwide engineering industry experience, including substantial experience in mechanical, civil/structural and engineering software industries and the last 27 years primarily focused on upstream oil and gas and carbon capture and storage (CCS). He has established an international reputation in pipeline engineering and has contributed to major industry forums including the DNV Pipelines Committee, OPT/SPT Technical Committee, OMAE Pipelines Symposium, SPE, API and PRCI.

Philip Cooper is a subsea and offshore pipeline engineering expert with 45 years of worldwide engineering industry experience, including the last 27 years primarily focused on upstream oil and gas and carbon capture and storage. He has held senior technical and management positions with major engineering contractors and consultancies, including Petrofac, INTECSEA/WorleyParsons and Heerema Marine Contractors. His expertise covers the design, analysis and installation of complex offshore pipeline systems, including gas and dense-phase CO₂ pipelines, high-temperature systems, pipe-in-pipe configurations and pipelines operating in challenging seabed and environmental conditions.\n\nPhilip has extensive experience in engineering management, advanced analysis, pipeline integrity, failure investigation and repair design. He has supported expert witnesses in multiple litigations and is currently undertaking an expert witness role involving pipeline repair methods and quantum in a major offshore pipeline dispute.
